Playing around

Lex, Kagen and I were in the office just hanging out and I decided to grab the video camera.  I wanted to get Kagen talking on it but, she was just in the mood to be silly.

Please ignore the messy hair on her head....  It's been a crazy day! Ha!

This and that

Yesterday after running a couple errands Kagen and I met Lex at the park for lunch.  It was perfect weather!!  I'm so very excited that Fall is here.

Later that night I left to help with Awanas and Lex and Kagen came later for church.  They didn't need much help last night so I was able to join Lex in the service. We're having revival next week and I am really looking forward to it. Last night we split into groups and read a few verses before praying for the revival. One of the verses we read was,

Psalm 51:12 "Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me."

This verse really spoke to me last night.  It's so easy to lose that joy you had when you were first saved.  I look forward to the work the Lord is going to do. Would you pray for me, my family, my church as we go into this revival.  I'd also LOVE for those of you who can, come with us!

On the crafty side of my life, I've been working on several projects and getting PAID!!  I'm not sure if this is the path the Lord wants me to take but, I am enjoying making things for people and hope to continue with this.  If it falls through, I won't be discouraged.  I know He has his plan for me already laid out.  I just need to let go and let Him have control.   In November, I will be setting up a booth in Lindale for the Winter Wonderland event they'll be having.  I'm nervous.  I could use the prayers for that too!!  I also don't have a name yet.... Help with that would be great.
In the mean time my awesome Momma took some items I had already completed, to her school.  And, I've gotten some orders which is wonderful!!  A couple things that were sent to the school were purchased too.  It's all exciting, new, scary, CRAZY!  Here a couple pictures of some things I've done.

This is for an LSU bedroom

I'm pretty excited about a Halloween jewelry box that I'm suppose to make.  Once I get it, if I can, I will do a tutorial on it.

P.S.  All the Pumpkin Patches open this weekend!!!!   I'm so VERY excited!!!

What a day!

It's been one busy but, FUN day.
We woke up to some low temps today and it was nice.  Kagen even wore a jacket this morning!  We ran to Hobby Lobby right after breakfast and then back home to change Kagen's clothes.  I needed to take her 2 year photos so I thought today would be perfect since it was so nice outside.  It was a little on the windy side but, Kagen did great and we had fun.  It's still difficult to get her to sit still, look at the camera and smile.  I know we'll get there eventually.
Here's some photos from her "photo shoot"

Always eager to help. ha!

We did have a little owie when we were finished

Making sure everything looks good

Afterwards we came back home to change into normal clothes and left again to meet Courtney and her sister.  Her sister lives about 3 hours away and came to visit with her two little girls.  She has a 4 year and a 2 year old.  We had a picnic at the park and let the kids run crazy!!  They all had a blast and wore themselves out.  When it was time to leave they gave each other a group hug!  It was adorable!

I only have a cell phone picture of it but, it's still cute!!

We came home, again, so Kagen could take a nap.
We've gone to the fair every year with Billy and Kathy for a few years now.  It's so much fun and there's all kinds of bad for you food. ;)  Sadly, we didn't get to go last year because Kagen got the Flu.  (I was a nervous when that happened) So, this was her first time to go.  She had a blast!  It was the perfect place to take her.  She loves music, lights, chaos! hahaha   Erin and Wes and their two boys went too.  Erin and I even rode a ride with Kagen and Levi.  I was nervous but, Kagen LOVED it.  It went up in the air and every time it did she went, "WOOOOOOOO!!!".  Ha!  It was so fun!

When she saw the bubbles, she SCREAMED at the top of her lungs with excitement!

Whoa

Ready to ride!

I'm tired, can we go now?

Good night!!

Bow makin'

Lex was off today so I begged asked him to ride with me and Kagen to the ribbon store.  I love going there because I can get enough ribbon to make 10 bows for LESS than the cost of ONE bow from a boutique.  I was also needing some ribbon so I could make a couple bows for a baby shower gift.
A couple in our Sunday School class is having an in class shower this Sunday.  I was very excited when I found out I got to make some girly gifts!!!  I made them a couple bows and a onesie similar to the shirt I made here for Kagen.  I got them a couple other goodies but, I was really excited about this bow and onesie!

We came home after the ribbon shop and had lunch.  After cleaning lunch off of Kagen we headed out to visit my friends that were having a garage sale.  Lisa let me put some items in the sale which was very nice of her!  Before we left I ran back in the house to grab a couple things and came out to find Kagen hanging out the sunroof.  haha  It was so cute, I had to grab my camera!

I hope everyone has a great weekend!!!!

Exhausted

That's how I feel right now...

I didn't sleep very well last night and I don't think Kagen did either.  She did end up sleeping until 9 this morning which helped us both.  I had a long list of things to do and places to go today and I wasn't in the mood but, I wanted to get it all over with.  Running errands without a child in tow is a breeze but, I still like to take Kagen with me so she can get out of the house.  But, getting her in, then out, then in, then out, and so on, is draining.
Our first stop was the grocery store.  I love going there in the morning.  Less people!  Kagen is such a social butterfly.  This sweet old man in a wheel chair passed us and Kagen said "HI!" and proceeded to give him a high five.  He told her "bye" and she said, "see ya later!"  Ha!  I love that girl.  After dropping groceries off I took Kagen to Chick-fil-a, of course, for lunch.

We ran to a few other places before heading home so Kagen could nap.  While she napped I worked on birthday invitations for her party.  I can't believe she will be 2 in two weeks!  Crazy!!  Once she was up and had her snack we hit the road one more time.  She did so good today and only had a couple spankings.  Ha!  I let her walk, holding my hand, in the stores we went to.  A few times she would get loose and run....  When I called for her to stop she started laughing!!!  Are you serious?!  UGH!  Here we go.  After a firm pop on her rear she leaned in, gave me a kiss......and tried to run again.  I'm in trouble.

I'm hoping we all sleep good tonight.  I know I need it!

running, running, running

That's what yesterday was like.  Kagen was a trooper the whole time too!  After we ran our errands we came home for lunch and a nap.  While Kagen was napping I took that time to work on a shirt I wanted to make her.

I found some amazing stuff...

I bought a $3 shirt at Wal-mart and used some left over fabric I had and made this!

I love it!  I'm going to work on a baby shower gift this week and do the same thing.  SUPER EASY!

After Kagen got up from her nap we went with Lex over to his Grandparents house to visit with them.  Kagen loves going out on their patio and smelling on the pretty flowers.

We saw this pretty rainbow when we were getting ready to leave

7 years

Monday, September 20th, Lex and I celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary.  I can not believe it's already been that long.

I was only 20 and Lex was only 22 when we got married but, we knew we were meant to be together forever.  He has been an amazing husband to me.  I know the Lord placed him in my life at the perfect time and I think I fell in love from the moment I met him.  We're by no means perfect but, I think we are perfect for each other.   As stubborn as I've been, the Lord still blessed me with a wonderful life with an amazing husband and daughter.  I can't wait to spend many, many, many more years with you, Lex.  I love you more and more each day.

Lex had arranged to have Kathy come watch Kagen so he and I could go to dinner.  He's a sneaky lil guy.  I got to pick the place and I chose Villa Montez.  I can't help it!  They're just really yummy.

In front of the restaurant

After dinner, Lex was going to surprise me and take me for a quick bowling game.  That's where we had out first date.  Sadly, I didn't bring any socks, since I wasn't aware of this, so we decided to visit the place where he proposed.

About 8 1/2 years ago, Lex asked me to marry him under this tree.

After the sweet pictures we had to goof around, of course.  ;)

The moon!  ha!!

Lazy weekend

This picture makes me laugh.  I remember telling my Mom I didn't want to be a SAHM because I could be so bored!  ha!

(I'm a little behind because things have been so hectic.  My 'to do' list is so long and it makes me crazy.  I have so many errands to run things to make and I feel like poo.  It stinks.  I hate feeling sick.  Kagen hasn't been sleeping very well either but, she is pretty easy to get back to sleep.  We just give her, her rabbit and a kiss and she's out like a light again.  Last night she was coughing in her sleep too.  I guess we're due to get sick.  It's still annoying.)

We had a slow weekend, which was pretty nice.  I wasn't in the mood to do much at all.

Saturday I decided to trim Kagen's hair.  Lex was pretty nervous about me doing that so he chose not to watch. h It went really well!  Kagen has pretty thin hair and it is super curly, which I love!!  I only cut a tiny, tiny little bit.  You can't even tell.  Lex was pleased with my work.  =)

Sunday, we got dressed, on time, and headed to church.

I had to hurry and feed her breakfast while Lex snapped some pictures.  haha

She wasn't ready to get out of bed

After church we went to the nursery to pick Kagen up and they said she did great.  She even colored a picture and made a book mark.  She's getting so big!

Trip to see MiMi

Lex's Mom and Danny moved from San Antonio to Denton about a month ago.  We decided to visit them this past Saturday.  It's safe to say, Kagen does not enjoy road trips.  The poor thing has to be moving around constantly so when you strap her down, it makes for a long drive.  We've learned to try and stop somewhere so she can run around.  Since the Tanger outlet was on the way, I thought that would be an appropriate stop.  Ha!

When we got there we ate a yummy lunch that MiMi cooked and ate LOTS of cookies.  I'm pretty sure she makes the best cookies.

Kagen noticed some flowers that were sitting on the bar so of course she HAD to have one!

I can't get over this face.  I love it.

Kagen and Precious are BFFs

After lunch they took us to this AMAZING park.  The place was huge!

This is only part of it

Break time.  It was HOT.

After we played we packed up and headed back home.  We enjoyed are trip and are so excited that MiMi is closer!
