Since having Kagen I've learned that...
-Plans will get changed....often
-You're late for church, lunch dates and appointments 80% of the time
-Changing poopy diapers means you'll get most of it on yourself
-Once a clean diaper is on, they will go potty
-They won't eat what you give them but, will put a random object...from the ground...in their mouth and eat it
-You'll get poked in the eye when you ask "Where's Momma?!"
-And Dad will get slapped in the head when you ask, "Where's Daddy?!"
-"No" is something they pretend to NOT understand
-They will drink out of other kids sippy cups. eeeeyuck.
-Will have a full blown melt down in public. (Sometimes I wish I could do the same)
It's not all bad.... Actually it's pretty wonderful most of the time. Kagen has made my life so much brighter. I enjoy some of the random mishaps that happen because they make life exciting and give me great stories to tell.
I've also learned that...
-They give awesome hugs and kisses
-Melt your heart
-Have SO much love to give
-Make you forget about jamming your finger in the door
-Wake up happy and not grumpy like Momma
-Laugh and laugh and laugh and laugh at the simplest things
-Say "I love you" without asking them to
-Get excited when you pick them up from the church nursery
-They love to learn knew things
With all that being said..... We had to change our Friday night plans. Which is okay, but I'm still sad we didn't get to see our friends.
Yesterday, Lex and I took Kagen to the park and all she wanted to do was swing. So she swung and swung and swung. When we got home I changed her diaper and noticed this horrible looking rash! It was on both of her legs and the backs of her arms.
Oh my!!! I freaked out. If you know me, that doesn't surprise you. I snapped a picture and sent it to Kathy. A Doctor she was working next to saw the picture and told her it looked like
Urticaria. Well, I was still a little freaked out but, doing better. We gave her some Benadryl and put her down for a nap. When she woke up the rash was gone and I was relieved. Kathy did tell us not to be surprised if it came back and in different spots. Today, it was back. All over her. I proceeded to freak out, yet again. I decided to go ahead and make an appointment with her Doctor just so someone could see it in person. She diagnosed it as
Urticaria. ;) Apparently, there was something on the swing that Kagen was allergic to. Yipee. It also can make Kagen feel a little crummy so she's been grumpy. It's not contagious or anything, it just looks bad. It gets worse when she gets hot. We have a steroid cream to put on her and will continue with Benadryl for a couple days and it should be gone.
I'm sure there will be many mysterious things that will come up and I will continue to freak out with each one of them.
Have a great weekend!!
