Dancing the days away

My goodness.  I will try to get better about blogging about our days during the week.
Before I know it it's the weekend again!!

This past weekend Lex did a little work on our entrance and we finally got a mailbox put up!  It may not seem like a big deal, but it's so exciting to me that we officially have an address!  ha!!!

While Lex and my Dad worked, I took the girls to a birthday party.

These kids were hilarious and full of sugar!!!!!

After the party we came home and started primping.  Kagen had a Daddy/Daughter dance that night.  She has been talking about it for weeks.  (We had so much fun shopping for the perfect dress and shoes.)
Kagen really wanted to paint her own nails.  I gave in and let her.   This is the first dance she will ever attend and I wanted it to be perfect for her.  She actually did a great job too!

My pretty girl!   She was so proud of that corsage.   Lex said every time she said 'Hi' to someone she would show them her corsage.   I love this child!

Once we found Kagen's dress, we talked about what she wanted Daddy to wear.  She wanted him to look like he was getting married.  Ha!!  I think he looked pretty darn good.   I loved that they were able to do this.  They made precious memories that I hope they can both remember.
After the dance they went to dinner with 3 of Kagen's little friends and their Dads.

Sweet friends at the dance!!!  We are missing Callie.... They left before Lex could snap a pic!

Our weekend

My parents were having some work done to the house so we decided to spend the weekend with GiGi and BillBill.  The girls were SO excited!!!   Friday we dropped them off and headed to a friend's house for dinner.

Saturday we took the girls to Chick-fil-a then met MiMi and Danny for some TCBY.   When we got back the girls went outside to play and ride bikes.   Lex and I went to our land to practice shooting guns.  That was so much fun!  I seriously want a gun for myself now!

The girls had a blast making fun hats with GiGi.  They were so proud!!!

GiGi took the girls to get Kalli a big girl bike.  GiGi said Kalli walked right up to this bike and did not want to look at any more.  She found her bike!

Sunday we relaxed before heading back to my parents.

We met a guy that would be coming to clear trees for us.  I am so ready to get started on the land.  I took a few before photos so I could remember what it looked like.  It is in some serious need of TLC.

Back again....

I'm back!  I can not believe my last post was over a year ago!!  We have had a lot of changes since the last time I blogged and I really wanted to get back to documenting things this way.  I always try to stay with it but, life seems to get in the way.   I'll try.....again!

2014 was a sad year for us and a lot of our friends.  Many of them lost loved ones, including us.  Lex lost his Grandmother in February and I lost mine in October.

We also had a lot of firsts...

My nephew was born in July.  We finally have a sweet boy in the family!!

Kagen started Kindergarten!!!!  Oh my, that was hard for this momma!  But, that girl is loving school and she has an amazing teacher!!

Kalli started gymnastics and is loving it!  She is so excited to be doing what big sister does.

This past October we sold our home and bought land next to my parents...who we also happen to be bunking with.  We couldn't find a rent home/apartment that would have been available for us when we needed it, so my parents graciously opened there home to us.  It was a big blessing because we are able to save even faster this way!!  So thankful for them.  We are also right next to our land, which is perfect...especially when we begin building!
We are really excited about this next step.  We have prayed for years about buying land and the opportunity never presented itself until recently.  All in God's time, not ours.

We haven't been able to get a lot done just yet because of the holiday's and cold rainy weather.  Hopefully things will get going now that we have some nicer weather.
Lex, my dad and Uncle cleared and added an entrance.

I will do my best to get back to blogging.  I really enjoy documenting out lives this way!!
