Christmas!

We had such a good Christmas.  I didn't take near as many pictures as I normally do!  I think it's because I was so tired. ha!  We didn't get the girls a ton of stuff this year since we took them to the Gaylord.  Kagen wasn't in to presents too much this year so it worked out!  We have Christmas with Lex's Mom and their family tomorrow night.  We are really looking forward to it!

Friday night we went to Bill Bill and GiGi's for dinner.  After we ate it was time to open presents.  We practically had to beg Kagen to open gifts.  Isn't that suppose to be the other way around??  Kagen really enjoyed decorating cookies and she REALLY enjoyed licking the icing off them. ha!

On Christmas Eve we went to my Parents' for lunch.    This year we did stockings so we could only buy things that we could make fit.  It was so fun finding stuff for everyone!  Stockings have always been my favorite thing.  We spent the rest of the day there before heading home.

Once home, Kagen wanted to see where Santa was.  (She had been looking earlier with NaNa)  We made cookies and chocolate milk for him.

The next morning we all went to see what Santa brought!!  Kagen was more excited about Kalli's toys than her own.  We let the girls play a little before getting ready for church.  They were having baby dedication that morning and we were getting to dedicate both of the girls.  Lex and I were so excited to be making this promise to the Lord.  My sister and brother-in-law dedicated their baby too.  We are so thankful that several of our family members were able to join us for this special day.
After church we had lunch at Nanny's and spent the rest of the day there before going home.  It was a busy three days and we were all exhausted.

They spelled Kalli's name wrong. I even wrote her name down myself for them. ha!  Oh well!!

Kagen was so excited to see her friends.  While we were at the front for the dedication Kagen said, "There's Madeline!!"  I have no idea how she spotted her. ha!

We didn't get a picture with all the family that came because they had to get home to get ready for lunch. But, we were so happy that they all got to come.

Happy Birthday Jesus!

This is such a sweet song.  Kagen loves singing happy birthday to Jesus.

Last Thursday we had a little birthday party for Jesus.  I let Kagen help me make the birthday cake.  She was so excited about that!  I think this is a neat way to help kids understand why Christmas is so important to us as Christians.  It is fun to play Santa and to get the girls presents, but I want to try to make a bigger deal out of celebrating the birth of Christ than them getting gifts.  What an awesome thing to celebrate!!

Five months

I can't believe Kalli is already five months old.  Things are going way too fast around here!
I'm having so much fun with my girls!  They are both at such a fun age.  Kalli loves watching her big sister and Kagen loves making her little sister laugh.

She can sit up for just a few seconds.

She has only rolled over once.  Yes, you read that right.  ONCE!  She's killing me!

She's teething.....  Oh how I dislike teething.

She's in a size 2 diaper and 6 month clothes

She has tiny feet.  VERY different than big sister.

She's probably around 15 lbs.

She takes three naps a day and gets up once during the night.  I know she can sleep through the night but, part of me doesn't want her to.  I enjoy our 1:30am bonding time even if I'm dead tired. ha!
We have a pretty good schedule with her and I go crazy if we get off schedule!  She and her sister are in bed by 8:30.  Then our day starts at 8 every morning.  (Now that she's teething she has had a couple 6am mornings)

She laughs all the time.  I love it!! She is such a good baby.

She loves to hear herself talk.  She is very loud!  She has to be with Kagen around!

She loves being held and hates being in her car seat.  She wants to be able to see the world around her.

She loves blowing spit bubbles.  She thinks she is hilarious and I agree.

She is still nursing but takes a bottle every other feeding.  I think she is starting to wean herself.

I tried giving her cereal the other day and she didn't care for it much.

She loves to suck on her hands and fingers. No pacifier for her, her fingers are too yummy!

I feel so blessed to be her mommy.  I love that she can't get enough of her big sister.  God has been so, so good to us!

Here are Kagen and Kalli at 5 months....

Grapevine

This weekend we went to Grapevine with my mom, dad, sister, brother-in-law and my niece.  We had such a good time!!  A few months ago we planned on just making a day trip to visit ICE with Kagen.  That quickly turned into a weekend trip with my entire family!  I wanted to surprise Lex by staying at the Gaylord.  I got an email from them offering us a discount so I took that as a sign.  haha!! I told Lex we were staying at Embassy Suites, because he really likes that hotel.   There was a lot of story telling going on but, it was so worth it.  Lex and Shane were the only two in the dark about it.  We told them our first stop would be the Gaylord so we could look around.  Once we got there my mom secretly checked us in.  She told the guys that she found a room where Lindsey and I could feed the babies.  They bought it!!  ha!  We took them up to the room and they still had NO idea until we yelled SURPRISE!!!  It was awesome!!  Lex told me he felt so dumb because he didn't have a clue.

We headed back down for lunch before leaving to walk around downtown.

Downtown Grapevine is such a beautiful place. There were so many decorations and things to see.  After walking around for a while it was time to ride the North Pole Express.  Kagen is obsessed with trains so I knew she was going to love it.  They had a little show before we boarded the train.  She was grinning ear to ear once we got on the train!  She loved getting to meet the conductor, Mrs. Claus and the man himself, Santa Claus!!

She wanted to ride the pony so bad!  She kept saying that she was a "cowboy" ha!!

We went back to the hotel and relaxed.  We walked around and looked at some of the lights before heading to bed.

Sweet girls in their matching jammies that GiGi got them

The next morning we ate breakfast and snapped a few pictures before going to ICE.  I was excited to take Kagen because it would be all about her.  My mom and dad watched Ciara and Kalli for us.  ICE was amazing.  I'm in awe of the talent those men have for making such beautiful art out of ice.

This picture makes me laugh!  Kagen started to go down the slide then she just stopped.  She would not move!  She wouldn't look around or anything.  We were laughing so hard!  Finally Lex had to slide down and help her.

Then it was momma and Aunt Lindsey's turn.  I didn't hear them tell me to sit on my parka so I got stuck! haha!!  Finally I figured it out and off I went.

I tried getting a picture of the girls but you see how that turned out.

After that we walked around the Gaylord then went to lunch before going to Bass Pro.  We had planned on getting pictures with Santa there because they are free.  Well....the wait was so long!  It wasn't worth it so we walked around.  Our friends went to Bass Pro that day too so Kagen was pretty excited about seeing them!
