Shots and sugars

Let me start by saying that I absolutely LOVE Kagen's Doctor and her nurses. They all rock.
Kagen didn't take a morning nap today, again, so I was already worried from the start that she was not going to do well at her check up. Much to my surprise she did great! She sat still and let her Doctor check her over and everything. Then came the shots. As soon as Kagen saw what the nurse had she started to freak out. She got 4 shots. It was so sad. But, once we were in the lobby she was happy and doing great. I am very proud of how well she did, she's my little champ.

Kagen's measurements...

Weight- 21.4 lbs and the 20th percentile
Length- 32 1/2 in and the 95th percentile!!!

Kagen looks healthy so her Doctor was not overly concerned with her weight. She is just tall and skinny, I suppose. And her head.... Well we can thank her Daddy for that. ;)

I love this sweet baby girl

Our weekend...

Kagen is officially 15 months old!!! She got to have a "girls" day for her 15 month old birthday. This was her first trip to the movies and she did great!

About an hour, yes a whole hour, of sitting still she decided it was time to roam around. Dana took her into the lobby so she could run around and play. I was so proud of how well she did and how much fun we had. Thanks Dana, Courtney and Lisa for helping tame my little child!! Kagen has some pretty awesome "Aunts".

Being silly with Dana and Lisa

The next day I kicked Lex and Kagen out of the house. ;) I like to do that every once and a while to give my house a good deep cleaning and have some quite time. Before Kagen left with her Daddy I had to snap a few pictures of course!

Not crazy about these laces

We've moved on to a big girl wave

New favorite show-SESAME STREET!

Gathered all her toys around her. She loves audiences...

We ended the weekend with church, play and grocery shopping. Tomorrow Kagen has her 15 month check up and I am NOT looking forward to it. Shots stink!!

Dancing machine

Kagen's MiMi (Lex's Mom) got this sock monkey for Kagen when she was newborn. She LOVES it.

Let me outta here!

A few of our favorite things

This blog is going to be a little bit of a selfish one for me. I don't want to forget any of Kagen's little quirks and accomplishments. The best way to remember is to blog about it! I haven't done one like this before so this might be a bit of a long one.

Things my ALMOST 15 month old likes to do and can do....

-She loves loves loves, opening and closing doors. She has realized that the knob on the door is how you open it. She tries real hard to reach and open it. It's a pretty funny sight, especially with all the grunting she does.

-Itsy bitsy spider is a BIG favorite. She likes doing the hand motions, even though they look nothing like an itsy bitsy spider. haha

-Dancing, dancing and more dancing is what this little girl is all about. Anytime she hears music she turns into a dancing queen. I may be at fault for that one!

-Holding anything from a phone, the remote, a calculator, toys and a book up to her ear and say, HEHNO? (hello)

-Giving sugars and hugs.

-Blowing sugars

-She loves pushing buttons and knows how to turn on some of her toys.

-Talking gibberish to her toys.

-Playing with the puppies.

-She likes to touch and sometimes say nose.

-Not afraid of anything.

-Climbs everything, which results in me getting on to her 80% of the day.

-When I try to take her hand and tell her to come here she shakes her head, No, and tries to run away. Funny at times and others just plain annoying!

-Taking out and putting back different things.

-Rubbing her hands together to get them clean

-Enjoys getting her teeth brushed and likes to try and do it herself

-She still screams, loudly, when she gets excited.

-Throwing and kicking her ball.

-Totally digs shoes and likes to help me put them on.

-Waving Hi and Bye Bye. She is a social butterfly and not the least bit shy, MOST of the time. She has her moments, though, when she doesn't want anyone but, Mommy or Daddy.

-Absolutely loves playing outside, which kind of stinks since it's so cold lately.

-Bath time, the best part of the day according to Kagen. I am usually just at wet as she is after it's all said and done.

We hear these words everyday

Ha Day (Happy Birthday)
Chee (Tree)
Yes or ssss
No No NO
Go
Hmm (when you ask her where something is she picks it up and says hmm?)
Mama
Dada
Buuh (book)
Tonight she said "nigh nigh"!

A few times we have gotten a Jake, Sadie and Baby out of her.
She will randomly say other words but, never when you ask her to. I think she is a tad bit stubborn. HMMMM. I might be at fault for that one too.

Twenty Ten

That's something I'm not going to get use to saying. I think Two thousand ten sounds so much better! We have had a great New Years Eve and Day.

Yesterday Kagen helped me make cupcakes for our big night. She had fun, especially when she got to sample the chocolate.

Yummmm.

Taking a break from all the hard work.

A friend of mine brought some clothes and shoes by that her daughter had outgrown. When I opened the bag I saw this adorable purse! The purse count is now up to two and I'm afraid that number is just going to keep growing.

Can you tell we are cutting teeth?!

And so our New Year's Eve party begins. We had burgers and cupcakes. It was delish. After that we played and just enjoyed our time together.

I think we were too boring for her. She was trying to leave!

Today we went to Grandma and Papaw's house for lunch and while we were there we decided to take some Family New Year's pictures.

Kagen decided she wanted down so she could explore.

The sun was a little too bright

After lunch we went to GiGi and Bill Bill's house to visit with them. Kagen had a great time with everyone today and needless to say she was pooped out!

Showing GiGi where her nose is.

My New Year's Resolution(s)
Work on getting closer to The Lord
Not worrying so much about what others think of me
Be a better friend
Get HEALTHY!
Cook more.... We'll see about that one

Random thoughts
I've learned that I don't need to take anything or anyone for granted. It can be taken away from you so quickly. Cherish each moment you have with one another. I love my husband and my little girl so much that words can not describe. The Lord has been so good to me and I thank Him for that. My family and my husband's family are some of the best people you will ever meet. Instead of worrying about what I don't have, I'm going to be thankful for what I do have. Happy New Year!!
