I'm an Aunt!!

Early Thursday morning my sister's water broke!!  She was four days past her due date and had just seen the doctor the day before.  They scheduled an induction date for the following Wednesday if Ciara did not come on her own. Well, she was ready! I was SO excited!!  I can't believe my little sister is a Momma!!  She did great through everything and according to her hubby and our Mom, was a champ during Ciara's delivery. I believe it!
Ciara is gorgeous!!  She looks so much like Shane AND Lindsey!!  Before she was born we all took turns guessing her birth weight.  Well, Daddy knows best.  Shane was right on the money.  She was 7.7lbs and 19in.  She has been such a good baby for them.

Kalli hung out with Aunt Lindsey while Kagen played with PaPa in the waiting room.

Look at these little toes!

<3

She makes such a beautiful Mom!

The new parents with their sweet baby girl

Seriously!  How much do her and Kalli look alike?!  Crazy!

Kagen was pretty excited about Ciara too!

2 month check up

Sweet Kalli had her 2 month check up last week.  She had shots too.  =(  I'm so glad GiGi was there to help.  She held Kalli during her shots because I couldn't watch.  It broke my heart!!  I have no idea why I had such a hard time but, I did....  She got over her shots pretty quick.
She weighs 11.3lbs  and she's in the 60%ile.  She is 23in. and in the 70%ile.  Her little head is only in the 5%ile!  Bless her heart!! Ha!

Sometimes Kalli looks JUST like Kagen did when she was a baby and other times she doesn't.  I looked up Kagen's 2 month stats and she was 10.15lbs and 23 1/4 inches long.  They are pretty close in size but Kalli looks bigger than Kagen did.  ha!

I LOVE that I have a Momma's girl.  I know Kagen loves me very much, but she is all about her Daddy!  I think Lex is jealous.  =)

Kalli still has several Doctors appointments coming up and two of them are next week.  We will be seeing the Pulmonoligist again for a follow up visit.  Her pediatrician also wants a sonogram of her hips.  While in the NICU Kalli had a click in her hips but at her check up the doctor didn't feel anything odd.  She still wants to be on the safe side and have them checked out.  Please pray for these appointments and the ones coming 2 months but, Kalli has come so far!!  I'm so proud of how strong she is!

8 years!

September 20, 2003

Yesterday Lex and I celebrated our 8 year wedding anniversary.  It's crazy to think we have been married for 8 years!!  I could not imagine my life with out him.  We have been through some tough times together but, I think that has only made us stronger.

I have so much fun with Lex.  He is goofy, like me. ha!

And now we're a family of FOUR!!  We have been SO BLESSED and I couldn't be happier.

After I dropped Kagen off at school yesterday Kalli and I came home to do a couple things.  Afterwards we met Lex for lunch.  The weather was gorgeous so we sat on the patio.  Kalli did great!  I was a little anxious as they started seating people next to us.  I've become a big germaphobe.  Kalli is such a sweet little thing. She was perfectly content and even fell asleep while we were eating.  Kagen was/is my hight maintance child, so this is a nice change.  ha!!  After lunch Kalli and rode around "house hunting" before we picked Kagen up.  I made enchiladas for our anniversary dinner.  Then we went to get blizzards.  We're so romantic! haha!

I love snuggling with this lil beauty

She was smiling SO BIG so I tried to get a picture and this is all she would give me.  Little stinker.

Two months already?!

I can't believe my sweet baby girl is already 2 months old.  She has come so far and I am proud of how strong he has become.  She is an amazing little girl, so is her big sister.  =)

Soon we can kiss all of the oxygen and the monitor goodbye!!  I can't wait for that day!  I bet Kalli can't wait either.

She has her shots this week and I am not looking forward to it.

She weighs a little over 11 lbs now...yes 11lbs!!   She is getting so big!!

She is in size 1 diapers.

She has started to coo and smile.  I love it!

Tummy time is not one of her favorite things to do but if sister is there she enjoys it a little more.

She eats every 3 hours during the day and at night we will go anywhere from 4 to 5 hours between feedings.

She takes 4 naps during the day.  They aren't always great naps but, she is getting better each day.  .I guess there is too much going on that she doesn't want to sleep!  ha!

She loves bath time.

She LOVES her big sister.

She is a Momma's girl.

She also loves riding in the car, right now anyways.  Kagen always hated it when she was a baby.

Pictures and a day to ourselves

Last week was a fairly busy week.  It was nice but I was exhausted by the time Friday rolled around.
Wednesday the girls had their pictures taken and they did so good.  Kalli was a little fussy at first but we finally got her to calm down and she even slept for some of the pictures.

sweet girl

This is one of the projects Kagen brought home from school.  She is having so much fun and loves her teacher.  I'm so glad Lex and I decided to send her there.

She has really been in to "fixing" hair.   She thought Abby Cadabby needed some work.

Saturday the girls spent the day with GiGi so Lex and I could get away for the day.  We were craving PF Changs so we went there for lunch then spent the rest of the day in Frisco.   It was so nice to get away and relax.

I would eat lettuce wraps every day if I could!!

Yummo!

Finding strength in the Lord

I find myself getting angry some days. Wondering why no one knows when Kalli can get rid of the oxygen. Why we can't get an answer as to why she still needs it. I still don't understand what caused my body to stop working. It doesn't seem fair. Then I realize there are people with MUCH bigger problems than dealing with some silly oxygen. Kalli will eventually out grow this, we hope. But other families aren't so lucky. I then get mad at myself for feeling this anger. Kalli is ALIVE. I could have easily lost her. I also have another beautiful healthy girl. The Lord did not have to give me either of my sweet babies, but He chose to. For that I am thankful. I worry that I seem ungrateful at times. I've found myself yelling at God, wanting to know why He did this to us. But then I realize, He is not a cruel God. He is loving and kind. I feel like he is letting us go through this storm to make us stronger. Even though I can't understand right now, I know there is a reason for this. The joy I have in my heart for my two girls is indescribable. My husband is an amazing man that has been my rock. We're approaching our 8 year anniversary and I am more in love with him today than I was the day I married him.
I found some verses that helped remind me where to find strength. I'm sure I will still have my days of weakness but, I know where I can look to regain that strength.
This has been the hardest 8 weeks of my life. But, I've also been given 8 weeks with my precious baby and I pray for many more. I needed to be reminded that God is on my side even though the devil wants me to think otherwise. I wanted to help remind you as well....

Isaiah 41:10 fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

1 Chronicles 16:11 Seek the LORD and his strength; seek his presence continually!

Exodus 15:2 The LORD is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation; this is my God, and I will praise him, my father’s God, and I will exalt him.

Pictures!!

Okay, two kids is much more challenging than just one!!  I have NO time to do anything. ha!  I'm sure I'll get the hang of it soon but, for now it's a lot of chaos.
I have about 5 minutes so I'm going to make the most of it and update my blog.  =)

We had some friends come by and visit.   These 3 girls are some of my best friends.  Two out of three of them are pregnant too!!

We went to a friends house so she could take some pictures of the girls and design a birth announcement for me.   Kagen and Madeline are lil bff's.

We went to Canton with my Mom and my 38 week pregnant sister.  We didn't stay long but, had a good time.

The weather has been wonderful so we took the girls for a walk.

I love this little stinker!

Kagen had open house at school.  She DID NOT want to leave either!!

I FINALLY got to see my movie!!  Me and a friend went to see Crazy, Stupid, Love.  It was great!  I'm a die hard Ryan Gosling fan.  =)

Kagen's first day of school was this past Tuesday.  She was so excited about school.  I told her bye and she said, "Bye Momma."   That was it.  NO tears.  =(   But seriously, I'm glad she is loving it so far.

Kagen and her bf Kendall.

I can't believe my baby will be 3 in ONE month!!  It's crazy!!
