Thanksgiving weekend

This weekend we were constantly on the go. I'm a little excited tomorrow is Monday.  Maybe we can get some rest?!  Ha!

Saturday morning we had breakfast with MiMi, Danny and Danielle before they went back home.  Kagen had fun eating all of MiMi's breakfast too!  =)

Afterwards, I met up with my Mom to find some wrapping paper and some mesh for the Christmas tree.  I am still having a hard time with this new color scheme.  Kagen loves it, Lex likes it, so that's all that really matters.  I was able to find some bright green mesh to put in it.  I'm liking it a little better now.
After that we went spent the rest of the day at my Mom's house and visiting with some of our cousins that came in.  I love when I get to see them!!  They live in League City so we don't get to visit often.

That evening Lex, Kagen and I met up with Kathy for dinner.  Her and Billy left this morning to fly out of town so we wanted to see her and say bye.

Kagen is a blessed little girl.  She was able to have Breakfast with MiMi, lunch with NaNa and dinner with GiGi.  How awesome is that??

Today, Lex and I helped in Toddler church and had so much fun.  The kids LOVE Lex.  I guess because he's one of them.  Ha!!  After church, we had lunch with my family then went to take some pictures for Christmas cards.  It was windy..... But, thanks to my Mom and Sis for being our photographer!

This is some of our family that came in.  After I took the first picture Kagen walked to the car, backed up and said, "Please!".  She wanted another picture!!   haha

Happy Thanksgiving!

I have so much to be thankful for, I never know where to begin.  I'm so thankful for Lex and Kagen.  They are my world and I couldn't imagine my life without them.  I'm thankful for my and Lex's family.  We are both so blessed to have such a loving, caring, amazing family.  They have done so much for us that I couldn't possibly say thank you enough.  I'm thankful for my wonderful friends.  I'm pretty sure I have some of the best.  Thankful for my church home.  I'm thankful that the Lord has blessed me so much when I certainly do not deserve any of it.  I'm thankful that He is forgiving.  I'm thankful that our needs are met even when I gripe that my wants are not.

Thanksgiving day we had lunch at my parent's house. I, of course, ate way too much.

After spending time with my family we went to Nanny's house for dinner.  Again, ate too much.
Kagen also had a pretty rough day that left her with bruises and a bloody lip.  First, she hit her cheek on the door facing.....pretty hard.  Then, she was standing on a coupe chairs and fell hitting her bottom lip and chin on the table.  She was a trooper though.

The next day we had lunch at Mo and Pop's house.  We also celebrated MiMi's birthday which was the next day.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!!

My crazy girl

Kagen has been really hyper lately.  Her laugh is contagious too!  She loves to jump on the bed, run around the house, chase the dogs and just act plain silly.  She'll also pull on my or her Daddy's leg if we aren't paying enough attention to her.  I'm pretty sure she's going to be an actress. Ha!
Mo bought her the CUTEST hat so I thought she could model it since her mood was pretty good yesterday.

We took some pictures of Kagen in one of her Christmas outfits today.  I'm pretty proud of these pants that my Mom and I made.  But, sewing is hard....not sure I'm in love with it....yet. I also like that she can wear them with her Minnie top too!!

Most of the time we were downtown Kagen was distracted by a train.  She kept patting her chest and saying "Train!! Come here train!!."

                                                                 "Where did it go?"

                                                             She makes my heart smile.

Our weekend

Saturday, we took Kagen to the Winter Wonderland event in Lindale.  They had all kinds of neat things for kids to do.  My Mom bought Kagen a little wrist band so she could ride any ride she wanted.  She's such a big girl!!  She even went down the snow hill not once but, twice. I think she regretted going down it a second time.  Ha!!

The whole time we were riding this she kept saying, "train, chooo chooo!!"

Balloons make this girl very happy!!  She didn't want to leave them!

I had to capture this on film.  This was one of a few meltdowns that day.  She wasn't in the best of moods but, I did notice her 2 year molars are starting to break through.  Thank goodness!!

Kagen loves, loves, loves animals but, she wasn't too sure about this little ride so her NaNa walked with her.

We had a great time spending the day with our family.  After we left I headed to Poynor to help set up for Stacy's baby shower the next day.
Her shower turned out great  and she got LOTS of good stuff.  She is an adorable little pregnant person!!  I can't wait to hold that baby boy!

All the kids wanted to help open gifts.

I'm so excited that Thanksgiving is THIS WEEK!!!  Bring on the food!!

TGIF

I am so happy it's the weekend.  This has been one busy week.

Yesterday, Lex had part of the day off so we loaded up and did a little Christmas shopping.  There was some things I wanted Lex's help with but, I didn't want to buy a ton because in a couple weeks me, my mom and sister are going to Grapevine for the weekend to shop.  I can't wait!!   We did purchase Kagen her first hamster or "mouse" as she calls it.  But, it's fake.  When we were at the mall there was a display that had the little guy running on a wheel.  Kagen didn't want to leave once she spotted it.  She even asked to go back and see it when we left.  Ha!   She is REALLY into animals right now and this is a great substitute for the real thing.

She also saw Santa!  We didn't do pictures yet but, we'll be back!
After the mall we had lunch and then went to Barnes and Nobles.  While I was looking around Lex and Kagen looked at some books together.  I wish I would have taken a picture!  It was so cute.  They have story time on Friday mornings and I may start taking her.  I know she would have a blast.

I had to snap some pictures of them cuddling this morning.

I also went to the store last night AND this afternoon.  I'm trying to beat the crowd before next week.  I'm going to be making some fun little appetizers for a shower this weekend and also some yummy desserts for Thanksgiving.  I'm making this recipe and a couple pecan pies for Thanksgiving.  I can't wait to try it!!

Tis the season!

I'm so ready for this weekend!  We have a busy one planned but, it will all be fun!

Operation Christmas Child

There are so many children that don't have anything.  I find myself wishing I could get Kagen this or that but, in reality she has everything she NEEDS.  I often forget that there are children who go to bed hungry.  I want Kagen to realize there are others that don't have a warm place to live, hot water, toys, shoes, etc.   I want her to grow up having a desire to serve the Lord and give back to those in need.
I thought we could start a tradition and do a shoebox for a child.  I decided to buy things for a little boy.  We never buy boy stuff so it was fun!

Kagen did such a good job packing the box, with Daddy's help.

We took the box to a local store to drop it off. If you have a chance check out Tyler Consignment Warehouse, they have some really great things!!

Tonight, our church had their Thanksgiving dinner.  We ate lots of yummy food and Kagen had a blast running around with the bigger kids.

I can't believe next week is Thanksgiving.  This year has gone by so fast!  I am so excited about spending time with our families.  That's my favorite part about the holidays!!!  And all the food too.
