Birthday girl

Kagen is officially 2!

After breakfast we headed to Toys'r'us so that she could pick out a small toy.

After that, we went the the Brookshire's Wildlife Museum.  It was so fun watching Kagen name all the animals.  We still have some work to do because she thought a snake was a turtle....  Besides the museum and gift shop, they have a really neat playground. Kagen's favorite part was the "choo choo" train.

She wasn't too sure about this guy

I didn't realize Kagen looked so unhappy in this picture but, it's the only one I got with her. ha!

she went up and down these steps about 100 times...

Do you see that, Daddy?

"Truck!!  Come here, truck!!"

Kagen also got her very own bouquet of flowers sent to her from her Aunt Lindsey and Uncle Shane.

We had Chick-fil-a for lunch and as Kagen would say, it was "mmmm, mmmm, good!".   We ran a couple quick errands and then came home so she could take a nap.  While she napped Lex and I got the house clean for her party.  We spent the rest of the day playing and decorating.  NaNa and GiGi  also came over to help set up for the party.  I'm worn out but, everything is done!  yay!

My baby

Tomorrow my baby girl turns 2 years old.  This birthday seems a little more emotional than her last.  Not sure why, it just is.  I feel like I could burst into tears at any minute!  I'm praying it doesn't happen at the check out counter of some store.  What a sight that would be.

I can't believe how fast these past few years have gone by. It seems like yesterday, she was just this sleepy tiny baby that would fall asleep in my arms. Now, it's a miracle to have her sit in my lap long enough to finish a book.

God has blessed Lex and I so much by sending this beautfiul little girl into our lives.

Randoms:

She loves to sing and hum...all the time.

She's a daredevil.

Giving hugs and sugars is something she's known for.

She's pretty good at high gives, too.

Reading.  Oh how I love to listen to her "read".  That little voice speaking all that gibberish, is music to my ears.

Elmo is her homeboy.

Milk and water are her two favorite drinks.

Diaper changes are a pain in the rear.... No pun intended.  She HATES having it changed.

She is very independent.  VERY.  And stubborn.   (I'm sure she gets all that from her daddy)

You can expect to have everything you say repeated by her.  Sometimes in a different language.  ;)

She knows to say "I", sometimes, when talking about herself.  ("YAY, I do it!" and "I tickle")

She's pretty tough.  I've heard that head of hers hit the floor too many times to count but, that doesn't stop her.

She likes to pray.

"Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD,
The fruit of the womb is a reward." -Psalm 127:3

Birthday gift

Yesterday the UPS delivered a package to Kagen.  One of my best friends, Amanda sent her a gift for her birthday.  It's the sweetest little blanket I've ever seen!!  Kagen loves it already.

Spelling her name out

THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH AMANDA, BUBBA AND KENDALL!!!  We can't wait for you to come back!!

Pups gone wild

Our house is loud, I mean LOUD, sometimes.   We are always being silly and loud. Ha!  I'm sure our neighbors think we're crazy.  It makes life more entertaining when we have fun, goof around and just act plain silly.  Last night, I was getting Kagen ready for a bath when she took off running, top less, and started chasing Jake.  It's funny how quickly the roles reversed.  Here's a couple videos of the action...and to show you how loud we are!

Brrrr!

Another cold front came through and we are HAPPY!  This morning Kagen was able to wear a cute little jacket to church.  I had to snap a few pictures of her because she was adorable this morning.

Cheese!!

Happy Sunday!!

Pumpkin Patch

Yesterday, we went to the Pumpkin Patch, along with my parents.  We had fun, despite the tantrums Kagen wanted to have.  She didn't want to be held OR to sit still.  It was a busy day.  Some of the rules they had posted were to NOT pick the pumpkins up by there stem and to NOT kick them.  Well, my child is a bit of a rebel and decided she would try to pick all the pumpkins up by the stem and when that wouldn't work she would walk around and say "kick it!" while kicking the pumpkin.  Thankfully, we were not escorted out because of her rebellious behavior.  ;)

I put together the picture from last year and this year together to see the difference in Kagen's height.  She has gotten so big!!

rebel

This picture shows how an adorable family picture can quickly turn ugly.  The look on Kagen's face is hilarious.  Although, at the time it was annoying, I can't help but to laugh when I see this photo.

She saw a dragon fly and started chasing it saying, "go, go fly!!"

This was Kagen is 2009 when she was terrified of the pumpkins.  She wanted nothing to do with them!

Now, this year,  she could care less.  ha!

Cleanin' machine

That's what I was today.  Kagen's birthday party is next Saturday, here in our house and it was in need of some tlc.  It's SO difficult to keep my house spotless.  My child is a little tornado.  She creates messes EVERYWHERE.  I love her to death but, my word can she tear up a house. ha!!  Thankfully my parents were able to watch Kagen today so I could clean, clean, clean.  It was nice.  I had the radio blasting and went to work.  Lex came home and we had a nice quite lunch on our back patio.  Meanwhile, my parents took Kagen to the zoo.  They said she walked the entire time, too.  My Dad sent me some pictures from their day.  Just warning, they are tiny because it's from a phone.

I'm really looking forward to this weekend.  We are going to the Pumpkin Patch tomorrow and then Sunday night we start revival.  Annnnd, before I know Kagen's BIRTHDAY!!!!
